# How to Download and Install Trezor Suite Desktop App

> Download and install Trezor Suite, the official desktop app for managing your Trezor wallet on Windows, macOS, Linux, or your web browser.

Trezor Suite is the official application for managing everything on your Trezor hardware wallet. It replaces the older Trezor Wallet web interface and brings a richer, more private experience: built-in coin exchange, portfolio tracking, transaction labeling, Tor integration, and a clean interface designed to make self-custody straightforward. You can run Trezor Suite as a native desktop application or open it directly in your browser — no install required.

## What Trezor Suite Does

Trezor Suite is your all-in-one control center. Once your device is connected and set up, you use Suite to:

* Send and receive Bitcoin, Ethereum, and thousands of other supported assets
* View your portfolio balance and transaction history
* Update device firmware and change security settings
* Enable Tor routing for enhanced network privacy
* Access Shamir Backup configuration (Model T)
* Connect to third-party DeFi apps via WalletConnect

All transaction signing happens on your Trezor device, never in Suite itself — so even if your computer is compromised, your funds remain safe.

## Download Trezor Suite

Always download Trezor Suite from the official source: **[suite.trezor.io](https://suite.trezor.io)**. The page automatically detects your operating system and surfaces the correct installer. Verify the SHA-256 checksum listed on the download page against your downloaded file before installing — Trezor publishes signed checksums alongside every release.

<Note>
  If you prefer to use Trezor Suite in your browser without installing anything, visit [suite.trezor.io/web](https://suite.trezor.io/web). Browser-based use requires **Trezor Bridge** — a small background service that enables your browser to communicate with your Trezor device over USB. Trezor Suite will prompt you to install Bridge automatically if it is not detected. The desktop app does not require Bridge.

## First Launch and Connecting Your Device

When Trezor Suite opens for the first time, it walks you through a short onboarding flow. Select your device model when prompted, then connect your Trezor using the included USB cable. Suite detects the device within a few seconds and begins the firmware installation process if you are setting up a new device.

<Tip>
  Keep Trezor Suite updated. Firmware and Suite updates frequently contain security improvements. Suite notifies you automatically whenever a new version is available — always install updates promptly.
</Tip>

Once your device is connected and firmware is installed, proceed to [Create Your Wallet](/setup/create-wallet) to generate your recovery seed and set your PIN.
