# Connect Your Trezor to MetaMask, Exodus & Other Apps

> Integrate your Trezor hardware wallet with MetaMask, Exodus, MyEtherWallet, Electrum, and other apps to access DeFi, more coins, and additional features.

Trezor Suite covers the most common use cases for managing and transacting with cryptocurrency, but third-party applications unlock a broader ecosystem. By connecting your Trezor to external wallets and apps, you can interact with decentralised finance (DeFi) protocols, manage coins not yet in Trezor Suite, and use advanced tooling — all while keeping your private keys securely on the device.

## Why Use Third-Party Apps With Trezor

* **Access DeFi and dApps** — connect to decentralised exchanges, lending protocols, and NFT platforms through browser-based interfaces.
* **Broader coin support** — some cryptocurrencies are only accessible via dedicated third-party wallets until native Trezor Suite support arrives.
* **Advanced features** — tools like Electrum offer deep fee control, multi-signature setups, and watch-only wallet configurations.
* **Unified portfolio views** — apps like Exodus combine multiple assets in a single interface with built-in exchange functionality.

In every case, your private keys never leave the Trezor device. The third-party app constructs and displays the transaction; your Trezor signs it.

<Warning>
  Only download third-party applications from their **official websites**. Malicious clones of MetaMask, Exodus, and other popular wallets are distributed through fake websites, unofficial app stores, and phishing links. A compromised app could attempt to intercept your transactions or steal your recovery seed. Always double-check the URL and verify download integrity using checksums where available.
</Warning>

<Note>
  If you are a developer building an application that integrates Trezor signing, explore the **Trezor Connect SDK** at [connect.trezor.io](https://connect.trezor.io). The SDK provides a simple JavaScript API that lets your web or desktop application request transaction signing, public key export, and other operations from a connected Trezor device — no custom firmware or low-level USB handling required.
